BROST(Biological Reactor for Organic Sludge Treatment)

Biological process is to artificially facilitate the restoration power of nature for self-sustaining, but the first step to process the contaminants in the ecosystem is by the microorganisms.

Microorganisms are classified into the aerobic and anaerobic in terms of need for oxygen.

To remove the contaminants under a required condition, the anaerobic microorganisms decompose the organic matter and other harmful substances by breaking the chained molecular structure and the aerobic microorganisms oxidize the decomposed molecules using oxygen – the organic matter reduction by microorganisms.

NH3-N(ammonia nitrogen), N(nitrogen) and P(phosphorus) accumulation in the contaminant provide nutrients causing the green algae proliferation causing lack of oxygen for fish.
